The Colts have made a trade with the Eagles, sending former Auburn rookie kicker Cody Parker to Philadelphia for Running Back David Fluellen.
Fluellen is a rookie FA add-on from Toledo, Fluellen was on his way to a big season last year when a ankle injury took him out for the rest of the season, missing a 3 of the teams last 4 games. Fluellen was a 1500 yard rusher in 2012, and a talented receiver out of the backfield. David's biggest reason for not being drafted was injury concerns. David missed 9 games over his 3 years as Toledo's starter, and his ankle had just been hurt.
Cody Parker is rookie out of Auburn, who led the nation last season with his 69 touchbacks on kickoffs.
It is believed that the Colts want Fluellen to take on the #3 RB role, with Ahmad Bradshaw out for a while, and Vick Ballard out for the season. The Eagles aren't happy that Alex Henery missed a 47 yard FGA against New England last Friday, and they stated that "all options are open" for the kicker role, according to philly.com. Cody Parker will definitely challenge Alex Henery, alongside Casey Spears, the Eagles other kicker in camp right now, a rookie out of Vanderbilt who got national attention for his high hit rating on Madden.
The trade is overall a good one, a plus and an improvement for both teams.
