Tonight, San Diego visits San Francisco at 4 ET, and Cincinnati visits Arizona at 8 ET to finish up preseason week 3. So here are 5 things to watch when today's action starts.
1. Watch the Chargers offense, who has been on fire most of the preseason, with a much better receiving corp then what Philip Rivers is used to having, and then the 3 running backs of starting caliber, Ryan Matthews, Danny Woodhead and Donald Brown. The should be a very good offense to watch this season as they enter their second season in their offensive scheme.
2. The Chargers defense needs to be watched too. It's gotten better, but not good enough to take out Seattle. Seattle scored 41 points against this defense, starting and backup, which clearly shows they don't have the depth to take out bigger offenses. Manti Te'o is still struggling, and the Chargers have some work to do there.
3. The 49ers have scored a grand total of 3 points this entire preseason. The coaching staff is worried about that. Watch them score at least 20 just to get their feet wet and feel better about themselves.
4. Cincinnati has a lot of work to do defensively. Can their starters hold down the Cardinals revamped offense?
5. Arizona's rookie WR John Brown. Watch this guy in action. He made 5 catches for 87 yards 2 weeks ago, and looks like he can be the Cardinals new explosive weapon coming out of the preseason.
